I'm working on a project for my illustration class, and my theme is the domestication of foxes. I'm pretty happy with that drawing, but at the same time I don't like it that much. It reminds me of a pet portrait that you might commission someone to do of your dog. Just not the type of style I'm used to emulating.

...you're "pretty happy" but at the same time, you "don't like it that much"? Dude, striving for excellence is a good thing - but seriously, you should cut yourself some slack =) I think it's awesome, as always, Erin. Great job!
BTW, is this from the same domestication project that has been going on in Russia for some time now?

Aww. ^^ Well, thank you. I appreciate that!
And YES, it is! I'm glad someone knows the reference! Kind of interesting stuff.. I wonder what their intentions are with this project. I can't really see domesticated foxes being sold in pet stores in the future.

You're welcome! ^_^
Sweet - yeah, I remember reading about the domestication project mostly because my reaction was "Oooooh I wanna foxie!!" or something to that extent. I don't really know what the purpose of the research is, either; it might be to domesticate foxes to be sold as pets, but like you said, that's doubtful. I won't own one until they do something about that smell I've heard tell of. =)
Apparently, one of the side effects of having several generations bred in captivity was that some of the foxes had begun to have floppy ears - like some dogs. Weird, huh?
